Why a website needs an SSL certificate
HTTPS protects the connection between visitors and your website.
Protect data in transit
TLS, often called SSL, encrypts the connection between a browser and a website. This matters for passwords, contact details and forms. The certificate must match the domain name and remain valid.
Configure the website
Install the certificate on the server, configure HTTPS and check for resources still loaded over HTTP. Arrange timely certificate renewal.
Choose the right coverage
One name, multiple names and subdomains require suitable certificate coverage. Check before ordering. A certificate does not replace software updates, account security or backups.
See certificate information at Besthosting, or contact support for help choosing.
