How to point a domain to an IP address
Prepare the hosting account and add the required website DNS records.
Obtain settings from your host
Add the domain to your hosting panel and obtain the server addresses or records recommended by the provider. DNS configuration does not upload website files or replace server configuration.
Find where DNS is managed
With Bestname nameservers, open the domain settings and DNS tab in your account. With external nameservers, edit records at that DNS provider.
Configure the website address
A records use IPv4 and AAAA records use IPv6. Add only addresses confirmed by the provider. If the provider supplies a hostname for CNAME, follow that instruction instead of entering an IP. Check www separately.
Check the website and email
Check website access and HTTPS after updating records. Preserve existing MX and mail TXT records when keeping the same email service. Agree mail configuration with your provider.
More about DNS. If you need hosting, review Besthosting or your preferred provider. Technical reference: DNS A, AAAA and CNAME.
